Caught Red-Hamded

So, of course the best part of Thanksgiving is eating leftovers for several days afterwards! Mmmmm ... yum!

We decided this year to skip the turkey and do a basic Costco ham which was of course was still WAY too much for Adam and I to eat. Elliott didn't like it after several attempts at putting it on his tray.

So, Friday after Thanksgiving, we were putting away the leftovers from lunch with the fridge door open. I grabbed the video camera because it seemed kind of amusing that Elliott seemed to be trying to unwrap the aluminum foil off the ham. Didn't really expect this!!

(Don't worry ... the fall at the end wasn't as bad as it looked here).

Apparently he LOVES ham when he discovers it himself. He walked around for the next half-hour gnawing on a wad of ham (yes, we allowed it ... he needs the calories!).

Thanksgiving Day

We've had a little family tradition of staying home and having low-key Thanksgiving Day's in CA and we love it! Last year, we hadn't even been home for 24 hours from the hospital so it was a bit of a blur :) So we were really excited for things to be "normal" this year!

We started the day with a little 5k that some friends put on.

Adam did a GREAT job running, and me and Elliott did a great job of cheering him on!! (They needed someone to take pics ... I sacrificially volunteered to do that rather than run!!):

Cheering him on:

It was a great race with hard work put in by these people that we like a lot!

After the race, we got home to get the cooking started ... hmmm ... what's happening in there!?!

Still rocking the birthday shirts, the boys started sampling early:

We were so excited for Uncle Daniel to spend the WHOLE day with us! So fun!

Needless to say, Elliott made his rounds as we ate:

Such an innocent face!

Food!

I'm gonna try not to drive the "this time last year"s into the ground, but Thanksgiving is our earliest memory at home with E! What a difference a year makes ... this time last year, and this year:

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

Footie Jammies

Elliott got his first pair of footie jammies that he wore on his birthday eve! What a cutie!

Guess his birthday started out with a bang because this is how we found him the next morning!
