Elliott's Puppy Party!!!

Sunday night we celebrated Elliott's upcoming birthday with a Puppy Party!! Dogs are the thing that E loves MOST so it seemed appropriate!! We are so grateful for friends and family who love him and came to help celebrate!

The invitation:

Decor ~ I had so much fun looking for ideas and making things with my actual hands rather than just typing all day! I think cutting and pasting is therapeutic!

Our first guest helping distribute the balloons!

Elliott with his guest of honor ... Barkley:

The spread ~ Drew and Jenny happened to have these huge orange canvases in their bedroom with dog silhouettes that matched our invitation perfectly ... how bizarre is that!?!?

Up close: Dog bone cookies, Scooby dog biscuits, spinach and feta triangles, Homemade cornbread (thanks Courtney!), veggies and hummus, and of course, puppy chow!

Elliott's cakes!

Main cake:

And smash cake (I found this idea online ... I cooked the cake in a glass bowl, flipped it into the dog dish, and covered it with icing and Cocoa Puffs! How cute!?!)

Birthday boy!!

Rae started the party out with a bang (pun intended). She fell so hard into the corner of a wall ... see where she hit? Luckily she seemed ok and was so brave! And yes, you can see where the paint chipped on the wall she hit ... yow!!!

Kristen and Emma:

Elliott reading his dog book with Miss Lindsey:

For dinner we served 3 kinds of chili ~ regular beef and bean chili, yummy (and healthy and easy!) White bean-chicken chili, and spicy vegetarian-friendly Chipotle Black Bean Chili.

Snacking with Uncle Dan:

Elliott and Cole bonding over their love of Thomas!

Cake time! He wasn't super interested but liked digging in it a little:

Presents ~ everyone was so sweet and Elliott loves his new toys!

Here are a few random and probably uninteresting videos that give you a feel for the action:
